Ronn J. Moore, 58, of Topeka, went to be with his Lord on Sunday, August 3, 2014. He was born March 7, 1956 in Sumner, Mississippi, the son of Johnnie Moore and Minnie Reynolds Sarpy.
Ronn was raised in Chicago and graduated from Harrison High School prior to moving to Topeka in 1981. He was employed by the City of Topeka for many years. He was baptized at the Brotherly Love Baptist Church in Chicago and was a member of True Vine Missionary Baptist Church in Topeka. Ronn was active in City League sports.
Survivors include his life-long companion, Martha Jean White. From that union include children, Latasha (Lafayette) McGary of Chicago, Illinois, Ronn (Meagan) White of Topeka, Marquori White of Topeka, Tiffany (Dion) Moss of Topeka, nine grandchildren, his mother, Minnie Sarpy of Topeka, his step-father, Clyde Sarpy of Topeka, his sister, Rosa (Bill) Nicholson of Topeka and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and friends.
Services will be held on Friday, August 15, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Second Baptist Church, 424 NW Laurent St., Topeka, KS 66608 (North Topeka). Burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery. Ronn will lie in state and the family will receive friends from 6:00-7:30 p.m. Thursday, August 14, 2014 at Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel, 2843 SE Minnesota Ave.
