Ronna Mae Etzel

Ronna Mae (Means) Etzel, 84, of Topeka, passed away Sunday, December 12, 2021.

She was born June 1, 1937, in Rock Creek, Kansas, the daughter of A. Ronald and Golda Mae (Krumrey) Means.

Ronna graduated from Seaman High School in 1955.

Ronna started her career working for the State of Kansas as an office secretary for Gov. Robert Docking. She finished her career working for Seaman High School in food service for over 30 years, retiring as the food service manager.

Ronna married Ken G. Etzel on July 20, 1957 in Topeka, Kansas. He preceded her in death on May 19, 1993.

Survivors include her children, Kenny (Lori) Etzel, Kris (Rene) Etzel and Kelly (Kyle) Larson all of Topeka; her nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; her sister, Nancy (Bob) of Topeka; her brother-in-law, Dennis (Grace) Etzel of Topeka; her sister-in-law, Ginny Means of Mesa, AZ and a host of other family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her son, Kraig Etzel; her brothers, Fred Means and Lee Means and a baby sister, Nona Means.

Ronna enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family. She was also an avid sports fan cheering on the Royals, Chiefs and watching KU Basketball.

A visitation will be held Tuesday, December 21, 2021 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Dove Cremations and Funerals – Southwest Chapel, 3700 SW Wanamaker Rd., Topeka, Kansas 66610.

A Rosary will be recited at 9:30 am before the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am., Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 312 NE Freeman, Topeka, Kansas 66616.

Interment will follow at Rochester Cemetery in Topeka.
