Rosalyn McLelland

Rosalyn McLelland, born on October 23, 1946, in Topeka, Kansas, passed away on April 2, 2025, at her home in Topeka. She was a devoted genealogist, with a passion that eventually turned into her life's work. Rosalyn meticulously traced her family history back multiple generations, often embarking on journeys to various cemeteries in search of tombstones that told the stories of her ancestors.

Rosalyn attended Topeka West High School and went on to further her studies at Kansas State University. Throughout her years, she developed a range of hobbies and interests, including reading, crafting, birdwatching and enjoying music. As a child, she found joy in crafts and singing.

Rosalyn cherished the memories made during family road trips, particularly those to Colorado and Texas. She leaves behind two children, who will remember her fondly.

Rosalyn was preceded in death by her husband Mark McLelland, with whom she shared 47 years of marriage, and her parents Gordon and Marjorie West. She will be missed.
