Rosalyn N. "Rosie" Slater, 55, of Topeka, passed away Monday, February 14, 2011 at her home. She was born December 2, 1955 in Topeka, the daughter of Leonard and Evelyn (Nordling) Slater.
Rosie worked for Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Kansas for 28 years. She also volunteered in outreach and Mission at the Lodge, Brighton Place North, and the Topeka Rescue Mission. She was preceded in death by her parents, and sister, Jennifer Adams. She is survived by her sisters, Phyllis Slater, Topeka, Judi Alexander (Terry), St. Mary's, and brother, Melvin Slater (Kathie) of Meriden. She is also survived by two nieces, five nephews, four great-nieces, and one great- nephew.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 19, 2011 at New Hope U.M.C, 2915 SW 8th Ave., Topeka, KS, 66606. Private inurnment will follow at Meriden Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the church.
