Rose Garcia Ayala, 67, of Topeka, died Saturday, January 31, 2015. She was born September 12, 1947, in Lawrence, Kansas, the daughter of Frank and Mary (Huerta) Garcia. Rose was employed by the Topeka State Hospital for 12 years, retiring in 1991. She was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church of Topeka.
Rose married Tony Ayala on November 10, 1981 in Topeka, KS. He survives of the home. Other surviving family members include a daughter, Tracey Garcia-Bird (Matt) of Lecompton, KS, sons, John Garcia (Heidi) of Eudora, KS and Vincent Garcia of Topeka; daughter, Estrella (Star) Ayala of Topeka; siblings, Chris Garcia, Debbie Garcia, Tina Garcia, Ruth Garcia and Mark Garcia; 20 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father, Frank Garcia; son, Rico Garcia; brothers, Lanney Garcia, Frankie Garcia and John Garcia.
Rose enjoyed spending time with family, going to the casino, eating crab legs, watching the TV series "The Golden Girls" and taking her grandchildren to Chuck E. Cheese.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, February 6, 2015 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Topeka. Cremation will follow the service and inurnment will be at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Topeka at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 10th.
A rosary will be recited Thursday evening February 5 at 6:00 p.m. at Dove Cremation & Funeral Service, 6th & Gage in Topeka, where the family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m.
