Rose M. Smith, 80, of Topeka, formerly of Yates Center, passed away Tuesday, July 24, 2012 at Lexington Park. She was born February 19, 1932 in Frankfort, KS, the daughter of Verner and Margaret (Farrar) Johnson.
Rose was raised in Frankfort and Topeka. She attended Topeka High School and graduated from Centralia High School in 1949. She worked at Sherwin Williams in Topeka for over 25 years.
Rose is survived by her children, Warren, Carbondale, Wesley (Linda), Yates Center, Eileen Smith, Topeka; 8 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren; sister, Barbara Klamm; and brother, Alan Johnson. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Daryl Johnson, and daughter, Judy Smith.
Memorial services will be held at 11:30 am, Saturday, July 28th at Highland Park U.M.C. Graveside inurnment will be held prior to the service at 10:00 am at Penwell Gabel Cemetery. The family will have a visitation at the church prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 4125 SW Gage Center Dr. Suite LL-15 Topeka, KS 66604.
