Roseann Carolyn Gish

September 10, 1944 — September 2, 2021

Roseann Carolyn Gish, 76, passed away September 2, 2021.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Rosetta Ann and Milton William Sams. She is survived by her only child, Sam Laird Gish, his wife Haley, and three grandchildren: Kennedy, Brooklyn, and Hunter.

Roseann graduated from Topeka West High School, the Class of 1962. She earned a Bachelors and Masters of Education. She taught Journalism at Silver Lake, Auburn Washburn, and Shawnee Heights, which claimed most of her 48 years of standing behind the desk. She had a love for journalism, producing yearbooks, newspapers, and teaching photography.

Roseann married Capt. Robert Lynn Gish in Miami, Oklahoma in 1975. Sam Laird Gish was born 1978, and he became the joy of their lives. Roseann and Bob followed Sam's sports career of the Blasters, Jr Blues, and Jayhawk baseball all over the US. Roseann and Bob were beyond proud to cheer for Sam as he pitched for the University of Kansas baseball team. Bob passed away in 1999.

Dentist, Doctor Norman Ruediger, came into her life and they traveled, cheered on the Kansas Wildcats, and he taught her to love the color purple!

She said "I loved two wonderful men; I had a great life, and I lived it my way. Don't cry for me!"

Roseann was an avid sports lover. She not only attended almost every single game of her son's, but she was also her grandchildren's number one fan! She was there to cheer them on rain or shine. You could always count on her!
