Rosemarie J. McElroy, 91, of Topeka, passed away Friday, May 27, 2011.
She was born October 9, 1919 in Topeka, the daughter of Glen and Ella (Dustin) Niccum. She was a graduate of Berryton High School.
Rosemarie married Homer I. McElroy on October 1, 1938 in Topeka. They founded McElroy's Inc. in Topeka in 1951. She was involved in many capacities of the business.
She was a member of the First Congregational Church, AJ Chapter of the P.E.O., Beulah Chapter of the O.E.S. and a 60 year member of the Lakeview Club.
Survivors include her husband of 72 years, Homer McElroy; children, Donna Robinson , Jerry (Janet) McElroy and Carol (Gary) Hunsicker all of Topeka; seven grandchildren, Susan Botkin, Sara Cook, Paula Beal, Janell Rogers, Scott Hunsicker, Greg Hunsicker and Andrea Bax; and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Marianna Porter.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Thursday, June 2, 2011 at the Penwell-Gabel Southwest Chapel, 3700 SW Wanamaker Rd, Topeka. Interment will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Topeka.
