Rosemary V. Helton, 82, Topeka, formerly of Horton, passed away on Saturday, June 19, 2010, peacefully at her home with her family at her side.
Rosemary was born December 15, 1927 in Detroit, MI, the daughter of Michael and Madeline (Durk) Bork.
She worked in the Dietary department at the Horton Community Hospital. She was a member of St. Leo's Catholic Church in Horton and Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Topeka.
Rosemary enjoyed crocheting, traveling and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Survivors include daughters, Cecilia Helton, Topeka, Denise (Greg) Soden, Robinson, Karen Helton, Topeka; sons, Verlin Helton, Houston, TX, Mark Helton, Topeka; grandchildren, Travis, Tim, Tara, Caleb, Colby; sisters, Madeline Barker, Redford, MI, Mary Potter, Nickerson; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, Gary Helton; sister, Margaret McDonald; and brothers, Frederick Bork and Michael Bork.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 23, 2010 at Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church. Private family inurnment will be at a later date. Rosemary will lie in state at Penwell-Gabel Southwest Chapel, 3700 SW Wanamaker Road after 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday and visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m.
