Rosemary Kathleen Corbin, 32, of Lawrence, KS, passed away Friday, January 2, 2015.
She was born July 21, 1982 in Marysville, KS, the daughter of Donald Dietrich and Patricia Diane (Walton) Blanke. She was a 2000 graduate of Washburn Rural High School, undergraduate of Kansas University in 2005 and her Master's Degree in Clinical Psychology from Washburn University in 2008.
Rosemary was a Clinical Psychologist for Bert Nash Community Mental Health Center in Lawrence for four years. In that tenure she was promoted to Supervisor for the Access Center and became an integral part of the management team.
She was a founding member of Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) in Lawrence, and a graduate of Emerging Leaders Academy (ELA).
Rosemary married Logan Saul Corbin on September 23, 2006 in Auburn, KS. He survives of the home. Other survivors include her parents; twin sister, Kristin (Jon) Allen, Wichita, KS; younger sister, Jennifer (Nathanael) Kelly, Topeka; maternal grandmother, Mary Loder, Topeka; her uncle, Phil Walton, Topeka; father and mother-in-law, Andrew and Robin Corbin, Auburn, KS; brothers-in-law, Elijah (Marysa) and Tyler Corbin, Lawrence; and sister-in-law, Caitlin Corbin, Wichita.
Rosemary was a special and vibrant woman beloved by her family and friends. She lived her life colorfully; she followed her heart to unique endeavors like running a marathon as her first long distance event, jumping into a lake of ice for charity, and generously helping homeless or impoverished to a restaurant and buying them a hot meal. She fulfilled the lives of those fortunate to have known her because of her respect for others, she did not hide away or reserve any of her kind spirit. She was very close to her sisters and fiercely loved her nieces and nephews and was very proud of each of them. Rosemary was a captivating and loving wife; she was committed to her family and thrived on news, updates and family gatherings. Her robust personality and charisma provided Rosemary with ample friendships and admirers in each stage of her life. As a community mental health professional she thrived on helping those suffering from mental illness or personal crisis. Rosemary's energy and smile shined in all facets of her life, she will be greatly missed.
A funeral ceremony will be 3 p.m., Saturday, January 10, 2015 at the Penwell-Gabel Southwest Chapel, 3700 SW Wanamaker Rd., Topeka. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service. Private interment in Mount Hope Cemetery will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Boys & Girls Club of Lawrence or the Lawrence Community Shelter.
