Rosie Mae Read, 93, Topeka, passed away on Thursday, March 27, 2008 at Stormont Vail Hospital.

Rosie was born December 14, 1914 in Topeka, the daughter of James and Bertha (Cartmill) Wilson.

She married Kenneth C. Read on September 1, 1932 in Holton. He died September 7, 1988. Survivors include daughter, Jackie (Don) Buchanan, Topeka; son, Kenny (Portia) Read, Richmond; 6 grandchildren; 1 step-grandson; 9 great grandchildren; 3 step-great grandchildren; and a brother, Ralph Wilson, Topeka. She was preceded in death by her brother, Leonard Wilson.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 1, 2008 at Penwell-Gable Southwest Chapel, 3700 SW Wanamaker Road. Burial will follow in Penwell-Gabel Cemetery, 6th & Gage. Rosie will lie in state at the funeral home after 2:00 p.m. on Monday and visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
