Roy A. Boyd, 63, of Berryton, passed away in his home on Thursday, July 11, 2024. He was born June 6, 1961 in Topeka, the son of John G. and Ranona K. (Finley) Boyd.
Roy was a graduate of 1979 from Highland Park High School and a proud Marine Corps Veteran having been stationed within the U.S. and abroad. After the Marine Corp, Roy was a security guard for Wolf Creek Energy Center. He then applied his cooking talents for various eateries in Topeka including Meadow Lanes bowling alley, Shoney's, and The Shack. He was employed by and retired from USD 437, Washburn Rural School District. Roy enjoyed fishing, shooting and motorcycles. His greatest joy was to have a good book and a cold Budweiser or two. Although his retirement included many health issues he still enjoyed cooking for himself and hosting family and friends at holiday gatherings.
Survivors include his mother, Ranona K. Boyd of Topeka and his brother, John (Rhonda) Boyd of Berryton. nephew Jonathan, niece Rylee, and many loved extended family members.
A Celebration of Roy's Life will be held at a later date. Private inurnment will take place at a later date.
