Roy A. Proctor, 88, Topeka, passed away Tuesday, January 18, 2022.
Roy was born March 28, 1933 in Burlington, KS, the son of Gilbert and Vanina (Wagaman) Proctor. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War.
Roy was a brick mason and was employed by Jayhawk Masonry, Proctor Masonry, Don Scott Masonry and Union Local 3 Masonry companies, retiring after 50 years.
He was a member of Topeka Bible Church, the VFW post 1650 and Builders and Trades Union.
Roy married Mary Joan Turner on June 28, 1957 in Topeka. He is survived by his wife of 64 years. Other survivors include; Michael Proctor, Marilyn Woodyard, Rebecca Colhouer (Kevin), Darla Conaway (partner Larry), David Proctor (Vexa), Katherine Rucker, 20 Grandkids, 28 Great Grandkids, and one on the way! A sister, Sandra Hall (Evert) Texas, and sister-n-law, Glenda Minnick and many nieces, nephews, friends, and his beloved dog, Maggie.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 4 sisters Dorothy, Mildred, Lucille and Joy and 2 brothers Carl and Gene, 2 sons Roy Jr and Gilbert, a son in laws Joe Conaway and Evan Woodyard and brother-n-law Jim Minnick.
Roy's wished to be cremated. Memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, January 31, 2022 at the Dove Southwest Chapel, 3700 SW Wanamaker Road. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in the Auburn Cemetery following the services with Navy honors.
