Roy Vega

Roy Vega, 28 of Rapid City, SD passed away suddenly on Tuesday, August 25, 2009. He was born November 18, 1980 in Chicago, IL to Juan Vega and Carol Urias Rush. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Roy and Irene Urias.
Roy graduated from Newton High School in 1998. He joined the Air Force in 1999 and served five years. He enjoyed traveling and spending time with family and friends. Roy was in the process of completing a degree in radiology at South Dakota School of Mines.
Roy married Abigail Klein on August 13, 2007 in Topeka, KS. They made their home in South Dakota. She survives.
He is also survived by his mother, Carol (Mike) Rush of Topeka, KS; father, Juan Vega of Michigan; 2 sisters, Salina (Jack) Ciotti of North Carolina, Irene (Winston) Hinton of Kansas City, MO; his daughter, Selena Rakonsnik of Pennsylvania; grandparents, Augustine and Evangelina Vega of Chicago, IL; nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Anyone who knew Roy knew how funny he was and we will miss his sense of humor.
Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00pm on Monday, August 31, at Dove Funeral Home, 4020 SE 6th Ave. with a rosary at 6:00pm.
Funeral services will be held, Tuesday, September 1, at 11:00am at Dove Funeral Home.
