Roy E. Wallace, 63, of Topeka passed away, Friday, September 24, 2010.
He was born in Topeka November 16, 1946. He was a sergeant in the U.S. Army and was a member of the Army boxing team.
Roy was the grounds foreman at Topeka Cemetery for many years, retiring in 2001.
He married Bonnie Bartlett in November, 1976. She preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his daughter Merrilee Hodges; his brothers Larry, John, Donnie and Danny and his first wife Nina Kuhn.
Survivors include his children, Jerry Hartman, Elizabeth Root, Tina Riggles, Roy Hartman, Pamela Hoover, Jill Hodges, Kristi Hodges, Brandy Wallace, his sister, Linda Winkler, 12 grandchildren and 7 great grand children.
Roy will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Cremation is planned. A memorial ceremony will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 28, 2010 at the Mt. Hope Chapel. Inurnment will be in Mt. Hope Mausoleum. The Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel is assisting with arrangements.
