Ruby B. Buchheim, 97, of Topeka, died Saturday, February 5, 2005 at Midland Hospice House in Topeka. She was born on April 26, 1907 in Victor, Colorado, the daughter of Charlie and Anna E. Sechrist Coffman. She lived in the McLouth area and later moved to Douglas County where she resided on her family farm in the Stull area west of Lawrence. She was a member of the Jolly Quilters Club and the HDU. She was a homemaker and worked at the Kansas University Student Union. She married Theodore Buchheim on February 12, 1929 in Topeka. He preceded her in death on May 1, 1997. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Rosa Moses. Survivors include one son, Orville Buchheim and his wife, Shirley of Topeka, four grandchildren, Gary of Meriden, Dave of Fort Drum, New York and Jan Buchheim of Manhattan, Ks. and Linda Wurth of Plano, Texas , eight great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren and one sister, Mary Wolff of Pleasanton, California. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel. Burial will follow in Penwell-Gabel Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Buchheim will lie in state after 3:00 p.m. Monday at Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel. Memorial contributions may be given to Midland Hospice Care, 200 S.W.
