Ruby worked in sales, clerical work, and retail buying for several businesses in California and Topeka. Their home base during retirement was Fort Myers, Florida. At that time, Ruby returned to Topeka to be near her family. She continued to enjoy activities at Highland Park United Methodist Church and Mission Towers, traveling, and playing cards and games with several friends until her loss of vision prevented her from doing many things.
