Russell L. Holle, 64, of Topeka, passed away Wednesday, February 5, 2014. He was born March 21, 1949, in Breman, KS, the son of Arnold and Anna (Dierking) Holle.
Russ was raised in Topeka, and graduated from Topeka High School in 1967. He served his country as a member of the U.S. Army, and served in Vietnam during the war.
Russ was employed as a carpenter for Halsey Tevis for a number of years. He went on to run his own family owned business, H & H Woodworks, Inc. until his retirement. His favorite role later in life was being the proud grandpa to his granddaughter, Chase Meridian Holle. Russ was a great "grill master" and really enjoyed cooking.
Russell married Sonja K. Beeson on June 2, 1973 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Topeka. She survives. He is also survived by his son, Brian Holle; granddaughter Chase Holle; brother, Alan Holle (Cindi); sister, Janelle Reichert; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents.
A celebration of Russ' life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 11th at the Mount Hope Chapel, 4700 SW 17th Street in Topeka. Memorial contributions may be made to the Helping Hands Humane Society,5720 SW 21st Street, Topeka, KS 66604.
