Ruth A. Rockhold, 93, of Topeka, passed away Tuesday, April 7, 2015.
She was born November 12, 1921 in Topeka, Kansas, the daughter of Oron and Martha (Engle) McCoy. She graduated from Washburn University with a Bachelor's degree in Music Education.
Mrs. Rockhold was a member of Lowman United Methodist Church in Topeka. Ruth was an active volunteer at the Topeka and Shawnee Co. Public Library and at Ward-Meade Park. She was a member of Delta Gamma Sorority, Brewster Singers, and the Lowman UMC Bell Choir.
Ruth married Merrill Rockhold on December 15, 1945 in Topeka; he preceded her in death in August 26, 1995.
Survivors include a daughter, Marta K. Miles of Topeka; son, Greg T. (Kim) Rockhold of Carrollton, TX; three grandchildren, Jennifer (Rob) Bader of Carrollton, TX, Matt (Ann) Rockhold of Garland, TX and Brett (Misty) Miles of Lee's Summit, MO and 4 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her two brothers, Dean McCoy and Don McCoy.
A graveside service will be at 1:00 pm. on Friday, April 10 at Mount Hope Cemetery, 4700 SW 17th St., Topeka.
