Ruth H. "Dot" Hochstedler, 85, of Topeka, died Tuesday, November 2, 2004 at Midland Hospice House. She was born February 14, 1919 at Topeka, the daughter of Frank and Blanche Whitstine Morris. She lived most of her life in Topeka. She was employed by Stormont-Vail Hospital for 15 years. After retiring, she made quilts and helped her family with many things. Survivors include one daughter, Virginia Jovalis and her husband Robert, grandson Paul Jovalis and his wife, Robyn, granddaughter, Loretta Jovalis, four great-grandsons, Daniel, Robert, Lucas and Thomas, two nephews, Larry Rosebrough and his wife, Dawn, Merwin Morris and his wife, Velma, and their children, two nieces, Barbara Wells and her husband, Richard and Linda Shafer and their children. Graveside service at 11:00 a.m. Friday at Topeka Cemetery in the Garden Chapel. Burial will follow. Ruth will lie in state after 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel.
