Ruth Mcdaniel

Ruth C. (Middendorf) McDaniel, 81, of Topeka, passed away Sunday, October 2, 2011.

She was born August 25, 1930 in Hiawatha, KS the daughter of Emil E. & Frieda L. (Puvogel) Middendorf.

Ruth was a graduate of Fairview High School.

Mrs. McDaniel was a homemaker and a proud babysitter of her grandchildren.
Ruth was a charter member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church as well as a member of the American Legion #400.

Ruth married Floyd on August 20, 1951 in Fairview, KS.

Survivors include a daughter, Connie McDaniel; a son, David (Nancy) McDaniel; three grandsons, Robert (Jacci) McDaniel, Jeffrey (Heidi) McDaniel, Dustin McDaniel; two great grandchildren, Austin McDaniel and Rhianna McDaniel; a brother, Melvin; and four sisters, Delores, Betty, Shirley, and Norma.

She was preceded in death by her husband Floyd McDaniel in 2009; two brothers, Harlan and Walter Middendorf; and two sisters, Wilma White and Dorothy Wiehn.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, October 6, 2011 at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 3625 SW Wanamaker Road, Topeka, KS 66614. Interment will follow at Penwell-Gabel Cemetery, Topeka. Mrs. McDaniel will lie in state after 3 p.m., on Wednesday at the Penwell-Gabel Southwest Chapel, 3700 SW Wanamaker Road, Topeka, where the family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Prince of Peace Lutheran Church.
