Ruth A. Miller, 90, of Topeka, passed away Monday, December 24, 2018.

She was born May 6, 1928, in Emporia, Kansas, the daughter of James S. and Sarah E. (Burch) Miller. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, James A. Miller and sister-in-law, Margaret E. Faylor Miller.

Ruth attended grade school through high school graduating in 1946 in Emporia. She also graduated from Lighthouse of International Four Square Evangelism in 1950 in Emporia.

She moved to Topeka and was employed at Hallmark, then Flemings, and finished her career at Adams Business Forms where she retired in 1990.

She was a member of the Rebecka Nobel Grand and served on the board and served as Treasure for many years. She also served as kitchen helper and with Bingo. She also served as Treasure for Ladies Patriarch Militant.

She was a member of the Four Square in Topeka for 10 years and her remaining years as a member of First Assembly of God in Topeka where she served in the Nursery, taught First through Third Grade Sunday School. She also attended the Women's Bible Study where she filled in as a teacher.

Ruth was very fond of animals which her last one was Buffy (Lhasa Apso) which she had for 13 years before having put him down after becoming paralyzed.

She sold her house in 2014 after living there for 47 years and moved into Thornton Place when her health began to fail. In June of 2018 in need of more care she moved to Winter Meadows of Carbondale until her passing.

A funeral ceremony will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, January 3, 2019 at the Dove Cremations and Funerals, Southwest Chapel, 3700 SW Wanamaker Rd, Topeka. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery, Topeka.

Memorial contributions may be made to Heritage Country Cowboy Church in care of Topeka First Assembly of God Church, 500 SW. 25th Topeka Kansas 66611.
