Ruth E. Showalter, 98, of Topeka, passed away Saturday, December 5, 2020.
She was born January 17, 1922, in Akron, Ohio, the daughter of Camille "Charlie" and Una (Keller) Cuenin.
Ruth and her husband farmed in Oskaloosa, Kansas until retiring.
She was an active member of Christ Lutheran Church in Topeka.
Ruth married William "Bill" Showalter on December 8, 1941 in Akron, Ohio. He preceded her in death in January of 1991. Survivors include three children, Gary (Patti) Showalter of Yuma, AZ, Marilou Showalter of Topeka and Lisa (Robb) Bertels of Ventura, CA; seven grandchildren; and13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Jane Little; and five siblings.
Ruth enjoyed spending time with family and her church family. She loved to share greeting cards with a $2 bill as a gift. She also enjoyed gardening, baking and writing letters.
Honoring her request, cremation is planned. No services are scheduled at this time. Entombment will be at Mount Hope Mausoleum in Topeka.
