Ruth Marie Stone, 96, passed away peacefully December 8, 2022 in Topeka Kansas.
She was born August 7, 1926, in Lincoln, Nebraska, daughter of Edgar A and LaVaughn Steele. She grew up in Hammond, Indiana and returned to Lincoln her senior year of high school. She worked as a bookkeeper and bank teller, then became a full-time homemaker with the birth of her children. She was an avid reader, enjoyed cooking and crocheting, genealogy and most of all travelling.
Ruth was a 50-year member of the Eastern Star and was an active member of the Presbyterian Church in a number of communities where she lived.
She married Clinton J. Stone in 1946, he died in 2010. Other survivors include daughters Carol Bragdon (Harold), Jan Vlasak (Jim), and son Robert Stone (Laurie). She was blessed with seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Inurnment will be in Fairview Cemetery, Scottsbluff, Nebraska. Memorial contributions may be made to Westminster Presbyterian Church, Topeka, Kansas.
