Sandra K. Lassley, 74, Topeka, passed away Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at a local care center.
Sandy was born September 3, 1946 in Great Bend, KS, the daughter of Wendell and Rita (Ast) Ternes.
She graduated from Conway Springs High School in 1964.
She was employed as a Personnel Development Specialist with the State of Kansas, Department of Labor for over 30 years, retiring in 2010. Sandy served on several Boards of Directors, including Everywoman's Resource Center (ERC), Topeka LULAC Senior Center, and Fox Ridge Cooperative Townhouses.
She enjoyed traveling, shopping, reading, live theatre, and animals. She had a great fondness for the parks in Topeka, especially Gage Park and Lake Shawnee. Sandy was known for her quick wit and for being supportive and loving to her family and many friends.
Survivors include her children, Daniel (Jo) Lassley, Marcy (Steve) Gentry, all of Topeka; grandchildren, Andy, Nathan, Truman, Nicole; great-grandson, Benjamin; and siblings, Sue Lubbers, Larry Ternes and Greg Ternes.
Cremation has taken place and services are pending due to COVID.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to a memorial fund established in her name at Topeka Civic Theatre.
