Santos Ortiz, Sr.
Santos Ortiz, Sr, 80, Topeka, passed away on Thursday, December 13, 2007 at a local hospital.
Santos was born October 21, 1927 in Del Rio, TX the son of Jose and Geneva (Jimenez) Ortiz.
He worked in construction until he retired in 1992. He moved to Topeka in 2005 to be close to his family.
He married Ofelia Jimenez in 1955. She died in 2003. Survivors include a son; Santos Ortiz, Jr., Topeka; daughters, Mary Jane Rico, and Geneva Jardado, both of Midland, TX; 14 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by daughter; Sara Chacon; and sons, Alfred Ortiz, Joe Ortiz and Samuel Ortiz
A Memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 19, 2007 at Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel.
