Sarah (Sally) Eidson Walton, 91, passed away peacefully on October 18, 2017 in Topeka, KS.
Sally was born in Topeka on August 29, 1926 as the fourth child of Agnes and Bain Eidson.
She grew up in Topeka and was a 1944 graduate of Topeka High School. Sally graduated from Washburn University with a Bachelors in Education and Bachelors in Sociology in 1948 where she was actively involved in her sorority, Kappa Alpha Theta.
Sally married her high school sweetheart William A. (Bill) Walton April 22, 1950 and was enthusiastically involved in the Topeka Junior League and First Presbyterian Church.
From 1976 – 1982 she was Senator James B. Pearson's Topeka Administrative Assistant. She was the President of Washburn University Mulvane Art from 1983 – 1984. In 1976, she was the President of Topeka's Red White and Blue Review. Sally was a substitute teacher for USD 501 and USD 437 from 1990 – 1995. She also volunteered from 1980 – 1982 at the Washburn University Mulvane Art and the Topeka Russian Czar Exhibit in 1986.
She is survived by her children Becky Green and husband Brent (Denver), Molly Harris and husband Stephen (Topeka), and Jennie Walton (Topeka). She is further survived by grandchildren Sarah Harris Hanlon & husband Matt Hanlon, Sam Harris, Tom Harris, great grandson Hunter Thomas Hanlon, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Bill in 1975, parents Agnes & Bain Eidson in 1990, Brother Robert A. Eidson, and Sisters' Betty Marie Fallin and Julia Bain Christenson.
Sally's funeral service will be held at Mount Hope Chapel & Cemetery 4700 SW 17th St, Topeka, KS on the 11th day of November, 2017 at 2:00 pm.
