Shannon Michael Silva, "Mike" passed away July 26, 2014. He was born September 28, 1948 at Hanford, California. He married Lynda Sharon Russell at Yakima, Washington on October 14, 1990. Lynda preceded Mike in death on January 14, 2010.
Mike joined the Army on June 21, 1966 and served his country proudly for 3 tours in Vietnam. He was discharged honorably. He worked as a long-haul truck driver and retired on October 5, 2007.
Mike enjoyed collecting coins, crossword puzzles and gambling. He painted ceramics and made ceramic music boxes for his granddaughters. He loved watching Nascar racing!
He is survived by his daughters, Katherine English of Neosho Rapids, Kansas and Terri Silva of Espanola, New Mexico; granddaughters, Casey English and Sharon Wilson, both of Topeka; grandsons, Cody English of Emporia, KS, Charles Silva and Brandon Silva, both of Espanola; and great-granddaughter, Jaden Wilson of Topeka.
Mike was preceded in death earlier this year by his son Michael Silva.
A private memorial service will be held on August 7, 2014.
