Sharon J. Layne, 82, Topeka, passed away Friday, September 4, 2020 at a local care center.
Sharon was born December 19, 1937 in Topeka, the daughter of Harry and Maxine (Nolan) Fruits. She graduated from Topeka High School.
She attended Fellowship Bible Church.
She was formerly employed at Disney's Draperies and also in the records department at the Shawnee County Clerk's office and Cotton-O'Neil Clinic.
Sharon married Allan Layne on July 20, 1956 in Topeka. Her husband of 64 years survives. Other survivors include sons, Mike Layne, Iola, KS, Greg Layne and Brandon Layne, both of Topeka; daughter, Shelly Johnson, North Carolina; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a brother, James Fruits, Topeka.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 9, 2020 at the Carbondale Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 8, 2020 at the Dove Southwest Chapel, 3700 SW Wanamaker Road.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
