Sharon Ann Ramberg

November 24, 1947 — May 27, 2021

Sharon Ramberg, R.N., age 73, loving sister and aunt, died unexpectedly in her home in Topeka, Kansas on May 27, 2021. She lived most of her adult life in Topeka but for a period of time she also lived in Modesto and Riverbank, CA. Sharon graduated from Hayden High
School, in Topeka, KS, the Class of 1965, and obtained her nursing degree in Kansas City, Kansas.

For over 4 decades Sharon devoted her life to her nursing profession as a Registered Nurse. Throughout her lifetime, until her retirement, she worked full time caring for those who were ill enough and in need of the care, that only an RN can provide. Nursing gave her flexibility to try various career paths within her field and she loved what it brought to her life. Sharon worked as an RN in Topeka, Oakdale, CA and
Modesto, CA.

The Nightingale Tribute

Nursing is a calling, a lifestyle, a way of living. Sharon's life as a nurse, is not remembered by her many years as a nurse, but by the difference she made during those years when she stepped into people's lives and by those special moments she shared with complete strangers.

She Was There
When a calming, quiet presence was all that was needed,
She was there.
In the excitement and miracle of birth or in the mystery and loss of life,
She was there.
When a silent glance could uplift a patient, family member or friend,
She was there.
At those times when the unexplainable needed to be explained,
She was there.
When the situation demanded a swift foot and sharp mind,
She was there.
When a gentle touch, a firm push, or an encouraging word was needed,
She was there.
In choosing the best one from a family's "Thank You" box of chocolates,
She was there.
To witness humanity—its beauty, in good times and bad, without judgment,
She was there.
To embrace the woes of the world, willingly, and offer hope,
She was there
And now, that it is time to be at the Greater One's side,
She is there.

After Sharon's retirement, she realized she really missed her Kansas roots & her Topeka family and wanted to return to her hometown. With undaunting determination, in spite of a raging world-wide pandemic, Sharon and her dog made the long solo drive from California to Kansas in May 2020. Her sudden passing came far too soon to live out the multitude of dreams she was just beginning to plan.

Sharon is survived by her most faithful dog; a furry, fun-loving companion, young in spirit Schnauzer. She is also survived by her brother and his wife, Ronald Ramberg, Sr. and Jean Ramberg, of Topeka and her sister and her husband Kathlynn Collins and Jack Collins, of Riverbank, CA.,as well as her six nephews. She is the proud great-aunt of 5 great-nephews and 2 great-nieces. Sharon will be greatly missed by her entire family and most certainly by her sweet, little dog.

A private interment is planned in the future. The family requests no flowers.
