Shawn Koss

Shawn Douglas "Tiger" Koss, 37, of Topeka, passed away on Wednesday, January 23, 2008 at a Topeka hospital. He was born on June 29, 1970 in Topeka, the son of Bernard O. and Linda Freed Koss. He graduated from Blue Springs High School in Blue Springs, MO. He worked in the construction field. Survivors include one son, Zachary Koss of Blue Springs, MO, his parents, Bernie and Linda Koss of Topeka, one sister, Christy "Sissy" Nievar of Topeka, his grandmother, Peggy Freed of Topeka, several uncles and aunts in the Topeka and Missouri area, two nieces and one nephew. Shawn will lie in state and the family will receive friends from 3:00-5:00 p.m. Sunday at Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel. Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday at Fairlawn Church of the Nazarene. Private inurnment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Shawn D. Koss memorial fund c/o Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel, 2843 S.E. Minnesota Ave., Topeka, KS 66605.
