Sheila M. Woosley, 54, of Topeka, passed away on Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at Midland Hospice House in Topeka. She was born December 22, 1956 in Meriden, the daughter of Don Henderson. She graduated from Jefferson West High School in 1974 and attended Washburn University.
Sheila was employed by the Colmery-O'Neil VA Medical Center for 25 years before retiring due to her health. She was a member of the Topeka Arab Shrine Auxiliary.
Sheila married Richard D. Woosley on July 4, 1976 in Valley Falls. He survives. Other survivors include one daughter, Shannon M. Woosley of Atlanta, GA, one son, David H. Woosley of Topeka, four grandchildren, Mekayla, Krystian, Addison and Zander, her father, Don Henderson of Topeka, her sister, Christine Henderson of Kansas City, MO and her brother, Jeff Henderson of Florida.
Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday at Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel. Burial will follow in Penwell-Gabel Cemetery. Sheila will lie in state and the family will receive friends from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Midland Care Hospice Services, 200 SW Frazier Circle, Topeka, KS 66606.
