Shelia Sweany Crocker passed away on Tuesday, June 13, 2017.
She is survived by four daughters, Kathleen Estes (Lawrence), Virginia Kurzen (Topeka), Claire Brown (Seattle), and Rosemary Rice (Kansas City); eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Born Shelia Mary Shepherd on June 14, 1927 in San Francisco, CA, Sheila and her sister Jean moved to El Dorado, KS when she was 10.
Shelia received her Bachelor's degree at St. Mary College in Leavenworth, KS. She married John Sweany on August 19, 1950. He died on July 13, 1990. After raising her girls, she received her Master's degree from Kansas State Teachers College in Emporia. She was employed as an artist with Hallmark Cards and was a Rehabilitation Psychologist in Sedalia, MO.
She later married Laird Crocker and lived in Ft. Collins, CO. He died in 2012.
There will be a memorial service at a later date.
