Shelia Louise Faison

Shelia Louise Faison, 54, of Topeka, went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, December 29, 2021. She was born July 22, 1967 in Topeka, the daughter of Willie and Olivia L. (Ridley) Burden.

Shelia graduated from Highland Park High School and attended Washburn University. She was employed by the Colmery-O'Neil VA Medical Center and later went to work for Stormont-Vail Hospital. She was a member of the Topeka Seventh Day Adventist Church and later the Second Baptist Church.

Shelia married Edward R. Faison at the Second Baptist Church on July 21, 1990 in Topeka. He survives. Other survivors include three children, Edward Faison of Topeka, Josiah Faison of Topeka and Asha Faison (Adam) Branion of Kansas City, Missouri, her mother, Olivia L. Burden of Topeka, her two brothers, Reginald Ridley of Topeka and Anthony Burden of Georgia, her mother-in-law, Pressola Abbott of Topeka, brother-in-law, Terry (Claire) Abbott of Salina, and a host of extended family and friends.

Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 8, 2022 at Dove Southeast Chapel, 2843 SE Minnesota Ave. The family will receive friends from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. Friday, January 7, 2022 at the funeral home.

Cremation will follow the service and private inurnment will take place at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Multiple Sclerosis Society, 2020 W 89th St., Suite 100, Leawood, Kansas 66206.
