Sheri L. Matthews

Sheri L. Matthews, 58, of Topeka, passed away Thursday, June 16, 2011 at Kansas City Hospice House in Kansas City, MO. She was born January 11, 1953 in Chicago, IL, the daughter of Fred K. and Joyce M. Lamaster. She was employed by Jostens Yearbook Company for 38 years before retiring due to her health.

Sheri married Kerry H. Matthews on September 14, 1974 in Overland Park, KS. He preceded her in death on October 6, 2006. Survivors include her three sons, Jeff Matthews of Lee's Summit, MO, Dave Matthews of Berryton and Thomas Matthews, serving as a missionary in Guatemala, her parents, Fred and Joyce Lamaster of Lee's Summit, MO, and her five siblings, Kathi (Jim) Hertzog of Butler, MO, Ken Lamaster of Belton, MO, Steve Lamaster of Olathe, KS, Dave (Kim) Lamaster of Kansas City, MO and Scott Lamaster of Greenwood, MO.

Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at Fairlawn Church of the Nazarene. Burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery. Sheri will lie in state and the family will receive friends from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. Monday at Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Fairlawn Church of the Nazarene, Sheri Matthews Memorial Fund, 730 SW Fairlawn Rd., Topeka, KS 66606.
