Shirley Conklin, 94, Topeka, passed away Thursday, January 28, 2021 at a local care center.
Shirley was born October 31, 1926 in Coffeyville, the daughter of Steven and Leona (Oskison) Hanes. She graduated from Field Kindley Memorial High School and received an Associate Degree from Coffeyville Junior College.
She was employed at Penny's as the Catalogue Manager for 25 years.
Shirley married Charles W. Conklin, Jr. in 1949. He died on May 26, 2003. Survivors include children, Janice Conklin, Anna (Charles) Reese, Scott (Alison) Conklin, all of Topeka; 7 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; sister, Maralee Hastings, Wichita; and sister-in-law, Barbara Hanes, Granbury, TX. She was preceded in death by son, Steve Conklin; and daughter, Peggy Smith.
Private funeral services will be held with burial at Memorial Park Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Helping Hands Humane Society.
