Shirley Jeannine Edmonds, 88, of Berryton, passed away on Thursday, February 28, 2019 at a Lawrence care facility. She was born January 17, 1931 in Marysville, Kansas, the daughter of James C. and Velma K. (Barlow) Riepen.
Shirley attended Liberty Memorial High School in Lawrence. She was a homemaker and served as an office manager for her families excavating company, E4 Excavating for over 51 years. She was a member of the Stull United Methodist Church.
Shirley married Benjamin "Benny" L. Edmonds on April 12, 1952 in Topeka. He preceded her in death on August 10, 1998. She was also preceded in death by her daughter-in-law; Cindy L. Edmonds and her siblings; Jerry J. Riepen, Ramona Z. Percy and Garman J. Riepen.
Survivors include their children; Robin L. (Jane) Edmonds of Berryton, Jerry D. Edmonds of Berryton and three grandchildren; Carrie C. Edmonds of Wamego, Ryan L. (Renee) Edmonds of Lecompton and Jesse D. Edmonds of Berryton and many nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 9, 2019 at the Stull United Methodist Church. Inurnment will follow at 2:00 p.m. in Clinton Cemetery.
