Sidney O. Allison

April 5, 1942 — November 26, 2016

Sidney O. "Sid" Allison, 74, Topeka, passed away Saturday, November 26, 2016.

Sid Allison, a loving, kind and devoted husband and father will be sorely missed by his family and many others. Besides being a great father to his two daughters, Kim and Anne, he was a wonderful husband to his wife of fifty years, Jan.

He had been very ill for almost eleven months and had suffered a great deal of pain. No human should have to go through what he did but when asked how he could endure such pain and suffering he replied, "I just take it one day at a time." He is now at peace with his Lord and his mother and father. We will miss him greatly each and every day.

We'll miss his quick wit which he shared with everyone, especially his coffee buddies. They learned that when he held up his forefinger he had a bit of wit and wisdom to share and they were quiet and listened. His favorite retort to his buddies was, "Leave me alone!"

He was a band director by profession for over thirty years. He left an enormous legacy to his hundreds of music students whose lives he has touched over the years. These students will pass on to their children and grandchildren a love of music that Sid instilled in them day after day. He and his students went on to win many superior ratings in both concert and marching band competitions. He will be missed but he is now without pain and is with his Lord.
