Silas H. Anno, Jr.

Silas H. Anno, Jr., 83, Carbondale, passed away on Wednesday, December 28, 2005 at an Osage City nursing home.

Silas was born December 29, 1921 in Topeka, the son of Silas H. and AnnaMarie Bahm Anno Sr.

He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II. Silas worked for the Atchison, Topeka, & Santa Fe Railroad as a purchasing clerk for 33 years, retiring in 1982.

He met his wife, Elvina E. Larkins, while serving in the Army Air Corp in Norwich, England. They married December 7, 1944. She survives. Other survivors include two daughters; Carolyn DeHart, Washington, and Linda Cottle, Acworth, Georgia; a son, Robert Anno, Carbondale; 5 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and 1 great-great granddaughter.

A Funeral Service will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Tuesday, January 3, 2006 at Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel. Mr. Anno will lie in state at the funeral home after 2:00 P.M. on Monday.
