Stephen E. Parr, 61, of Topeka, passed away Saturday, February 16, 2013.
He was born March 26, 1951 in Tulare, CA, the son of Earl W. and Mary Lois (Pool) Parr. He was a graduate of Wooster High School, Reno, NV and University of Nevada, receiving a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Mr. Parr was Executive Vice President and Chief Executive Officer of Kansas Electric Power Cooperative. He served on the Member's Committee of Southwest Power Pool and Wolf Creek Nuclear Operating Corporation Board.
He was a member of Journey Church, Topeka.
Stephen married Debra L. Trottot on June 7, 1969 in Reno, NV. She survives of the home. Other survivors include three sons, Stephen (Jamie) Parr, Jr., Topeka, Christopher (Adrianne) Parr, and Jeremy (Ashley) Parr, all of Kansas City, KS; three grandchildren, Brody, Nolan and Will Parr; a brother, Dallas Parr a sister, Cynthia Smith both of Santa Rosa, CA; and his mother-in-law, Dorothy Trottot. He was preceded in death by his parents.
He was a loving husband, father, papa and friend. He enjoyed spending time with his family, his work and his wife.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, February 22, 2013 at Penwell-Gabel Southwest Chapel, 3700 SW Wanamaker Rd, Topeka. Honoring his request, the casket will remain closed. Burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery, Topeka. Memorial contributions may be made to A.L.S.
