Stephen J. Minter, 72, of Topeka, passed away March 4, 2017. He was born in Santa Monica, California on January 30, 1945 to Cleason and Ruth (Fox) Minter. He graduated from Salina High School. He graduated from K-State with a bachelor's degree in business.
He served as a Lieutenant in Vietnam with the US Army. He married Karen Gibbons in 1969. They divorced in 1978. He worked in sales with Standard Brands, Foremost Dairy and National Inquirer retiring in 1992. He began his second career with Goodyear Rubber in 1998 and retired in 2010.
He enjoyed golfing, watching movies and spending time with his family.
He is survived by Stepheny (Minter) Ambrose and husband Eric of Topeka and Kristy (Minter) Droegemeier and husband Mike of Burlingame; grandchildren: Maxwell, Cora and Sophia Ambrose, Katelyn Droegemeier; his sister, Kathleen Murphy of Irving, TX and his brother, Stanley Minter of Wichita, KS; and the mother of his children, Karen Koelling.
Memorial services will be held at Colmery O'Neil VA Medical Center Chapel, Building 23, 2200 SW Gage, Topeka, Kansas on Sunday, March 19, 2017 at 2:00PM. Graveside inurnment will be held at Abilene Cemetery, 502 NW 21st, Abilene, Kansas on Monday, March 20, 2017 at 11:00AM with military honors.
