Steve Crecelius, Jr.
Steve Crecelius, Jr., 62, of Topeka, passed away on Saturday, September 25, 2010 at his home surrounded by his family, friends and neighbors. He was born on April 6, 1948 in Leavenworth, KS, the son of Wilbur Stephen and Grace Cornwell Crecelius, Sr.
He attended Leavenworth Public Schools. Steve held many certifications through Volkswagen Mid America in St. Louis. He was employed by Daryl Motors VW and later branched off with Larry Zirkle at Westside Imports and Automotive before retiring on June 11, 2010 due to his health.
Steve married Mary Jarowitz on August 4, 1967 in Topeka. She survives. Other survivors include one daughter, Carrie A. Nelson and husband, Rod, one grandson, Damien L. Nelson, one sister, Dolores and husband, Dr. Jerry Everett, and many nieces and nephews.
Cremation has taken place and a celebration of Steve's life will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday at Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel. Private inurnment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Grace Hospice, 3715 SW 29th St., Topeka, KS 66614 or to the Cotton-O'Neil Cancer Center Angel Fund c/o Stormont-Vail Health Care Auxiliary, 1500 SW 10th Ave., Topeka, KS 66604.
