Steve Lynch, 80, Berryton, passed away Sunday, August 3, 2014.
He was born July 14, 1934, in Topeka, Kansas, the son of Willard and Lula (Atwood) Lynch.
Steve was employed by the City of Topeka Fire Department for 25 years, retiring in 1985. He continued his plastering career in the Topeka area until he was 75, a career he loved.
He was a member of Plasters Union Local 44; Topeka Fireman Local 83 and Golden Rule #90, A.F. & A.M.
He enjoyed hunting, raising his Brangus cattle and riding his mule. He loved traveling to the mountains and most of all spending time with his family and grandchildren.
Steve married Esther Conrad on July 30, 1953 in Kansas City, Kansas. She survives. Other survivors include their children, Mark (Connie) Lynch, Teresa (Paul) Morris, Carol (Ray) Perry-Lumb and Mike Lynch; one brother, Paul (Olga) Lynch; eight grandchildren and four beautiful great-granddaughters.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Dennis Lynch.
Funeral services will be 1 pm, Wednesday, August 6, 2014 at Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel. Interment will follow at Auburn Cemetery. Steve will lie in state after 2 pm Tuesday at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 6 - 8 pm.
