Steven E. “Steve” Arnold, 73, of Ottawa, Kansas, passed away on Thursday, March 20, 2025 at AdventHealth Shawnee Mission in Merriam, Kansas. He was born February 14, 1952 in Topeka, the son of Ernest and Ann (Bolyard) Arnold.
Steve was an Army Veteran, serving during Desert Storm with the Kansas Air National 190th Refueling Wing. He was employed by them for many years before retiring in the late 1990's. He was an avid golfer, and enjoyed playing with his two sons any chance he could as well as playing in the Men's Club at Berkshire Golf Club. He even recorded a hole-in-one on the 2nd hole at Western Hills.
Steve married Terry Diegel in May, 1978. They later divorced.
Survivors include two sons, Derek (Cara) Arnold of Ozawkie, Kansas, Jarrett (Rebecca) Arnold of Topeka, two grandsons, Cade and Brody, and his siblings, Connie (Jerry) Oliver of Meriden, Kansas and Kelly (Rick) Grossenbacher of Lebo, Kansas.
Steve was preceded in death by one son, Cory Cooper, his sister, Cindy Nuzum and his brother, Rick Arnold.
A Celebration of Steve's Life will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 12, 2025 at Dove Southeast Chapel, 2843 SE Minnesota Ave. The family and friends will meet for inurnment in Pleasant Hill Cemetery southeast of Topeka following the service.
