Susan Evans Brunsvold

Susan Evans Brunsvold, 69, of Topeka, passed away on Monday, April 1, 2013 at Midland Hospice House. She was born September 7, 1943 in Milwaukee, WI, to Harris and Estelle Evans.
Susan spent her youth in Milwaukee and graduated from the University of Dubuque in Dubuque, IA. She then took a teaching position in Northwood, IA, where she met her husband, Ronald. Susan embraced the role of a farmer's wife for many years, and finished her working career with 17 years of service to AT&T. Susan's biggest role was as a wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She enjoyed celebrating life by hosting parties, cooking desserts and giving gifts to anyone she thought needed one. She was a longtime member of Topeka Bible Church and found tremendous love and comfort in the Koinonia class at TBC.
Susan married Ronald Brunsvold on July 5, 1969 in Milwaukee. He survives. Other survivors include their children, Kirsti Brunsvold of Warrensburg, MO, Robert (Sara) Brunsvold of Mission, KS and Corey (Jennifer) Brunsvold of San Antonio, TX, seven grandchildren, Zachary, Ethan, Luke, Elli, Noah, Annika and Krista. Susan was preceded in death by her sister, Mary Weber.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Topeka Bible Church. Burial will follow in Penwell-Gabel Cemetery. Susan will lie in state and the family will receive friends from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Penwell-Gabel Southwest Chapel. Memorial contributions may be given to The Gideons International, P.O. Box 140800, Nashville, TN 37214.
