Sylvester R. Norwood, Jr., 56, of Topeka, went to be with his Lord on Monday, July 9, 2012 at his residence. He was born October 20, 1955 in Oklahoma City, OK, the son of Sylvester R. and Jeanne Trotter Norwood. He served in the US Army for 3 years. Sylvester was a certified nursing assistant for several different care facilities.
Survivors include his children, Sylvester Norwood III and Virnajeanne Norwood of Topeka, and his siblings, Samuel Earl Norwood Texas, Denorval Norwood Tulsa, OK, Joseph Lee Norwood and Ronald Norwood both of San Bernadino, CA, and Raymond Hickmon Oklahoma City, OK, Sandra Marie Norwwod Topeka, KS, and Mary Lou Norwood San Bernadino, CA, 2 Goddaughters, Skylar Redmon and DeAnita Anderson, 5 grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
No services are planned and private interment will take place in Topeka Cemetery. Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel is assisting the family.
