Sylvia Anne Packer

Sylvia Anne Packer, 75, of Topeka, passed away on Friday, June 4, 2010. She was born on November 28, 1934 in Topeka, the daughter of Cyrus S. and Karolina Keil Hutchison. She attended Highland Park High School. She was employed by Southwestern Bell Telephone prior to the birth of her first child.

Sylvia married Glenn E. "Sonny" Packer on March 22, 1952 in Eureka Springs, AR. He preceded her in death on May 18, 2002 after fifty years of marriage. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Virginia Stogsdill. Survivors include her children; Glenn L. Packer, Mike Packer, Debby Cowan, Connie (Brad) Paletta and Pamela Packer, her grandchildren; Catherine Anne Cowan, Joe and Rachel Paletta, her siblings; Alice Flye, Carolyn Jurgensmeier, Al Hutchison, Cy Hutchison, Bob Hutchison, Ray Hutchison and Richard Hutchison.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at West Lawn Memorial Gardens. Sylvia will lie in state and the family will receive friends from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Monday at Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Sylvia A.
