Tanya Lynn Collins, 49, of Blue Springs, MO, formerly of Topeka, KS, passed away Thursday, December 29, 2016 at the K.U. Medical Center, Kansas City, KS.
Tanya was born on February 9, 1967 in Topeka, Kansas the daughter of Robert V. and Evelyn H. (Longenecker) Pawley. She was a 1985 graduate of Highland Park High School and attended Fort Hays State University and Washburn University.
Tanya was employed by Commerce Bank in Kansas City, MO.
Tanya married Tim Wunder in 1989. They later divorced. She married Andrew C. Collins on June 9, 2001 in Independence, Missouri. He survives. Other survivors include two children, Jamison (Ashley Ogden) Wunder, Odessa, MO, Kelsi (Cliff) Robinson, Topeka; two grandchildren, Liam Robinson and Adrienne Wunder; her mother, Evelyn H. Pawley, Topeka; her brother, Kevin Pawley, Topeka; her sister, Melody (Scott) Flowers, Kansas City, KS; and a niece, Lindsay and two nephews, Mason and Cooper. She was preceded in death by her father.
Tanya enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She competed in gymnastics in high school. She also enjoyed quilting, needle point, playing pool, reading, cooking, and helping people.
A funeral ceremony will be 1 p.m., Thursday, January 5, 2017 at the Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel, 2843 SE Minnesota Ave, Topeka.
Tanya will lie in state after 3 p.m., Wednesday at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 6:30-8 p.m.
