Teri D. Simpson, 57, Olathe, formerly of Topeka, passed away Thursday, April 19, 2018 at her home, after a courageous 15 month battle with cancer, with family by her side.
Teri was born June 16, 1960 in Lincoln, NE, the daughter of George E. and Martha M. (Frahm) Brodie. She graduated from Silver Lake High School in 1978.
She was employed by the Shawnee County Health Department from 1980 to 1986 and then the City of Topeka Parks & Recreation Department, retiring in 2015.
She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandsons at Deanna Rose Children's Farmstead. She led a very active life, playing softball, basketball and volleyball.
Teri married Clarence E. "Punkie" Simpson III on April 11, 1981 in Silver Lake. He survives. Other survivors include sons, Clarence E. Simpson IV, Bridgewater, VA, Brock (Jill) Simpson, Overland Park; grandsons, Colt & Cade Simpson; siblings, Rita (Ron) Meyers, Topeka, Gail (Dennis) McAdams, Phoenix, AZ and Steve (Mary) Brodie, Wichita. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, April 23, 2018 at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 3625 SW Wanamaker Road, Topeka. A luncheon at the church will follow the service. Burial will be at 2:30 p.m. at Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Stanley. The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 22, 2018 at Dove Cremations & Funeral, Southwest Chapel, 3700 SW Wanamaker Road, Topeka.
