Terri L. Sims

Terri L. Sims, 49, of Topeka, formerly of Lyndon, Kansas, passed away September 12, 2012. She was born on August 27, 1963 to Gary and Nina Hightower at Houston, Texas. She was raised in Texas and graduated from Milby High School in Houston. She worked at Golden Corral Restaurant as a head waitress for 18 years. Terri enjoyed roller skating, going to the casino and playing with her grandchildren.
She is survived by two sons, Shaun Hightower, and Travis Sims, both of Topeka; her daughter, Amanda Sims, of Topeka; two grandchildren, De'Aven Sims and Andre Sims; a brother, Robert Hightower; and a sister, Fern Bell. She was preceded in death by her parents.
A Memorial service will be held Thursday, September 20, 2012, at 7:00 p.m. at Grace United Methodist Church. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the grandchildren's educational fund in care of Grace United Methodist Church, 2627 SW Western Topeka, Kansas 66611.
